Waco CG-4A / Hadrian  [@ RAF Shawbury]

This Hadrian glider, which is under restoration, was donated to the Assault Glider Trust by the Silent Wings museum (Lubbock, Texas). In return, the Assault Glider Trust is helping to manufacture an Airspeed Horsa. The Waco will form a vital element of the Memorial to the British airborne operations at Sicily and in the Chindit operations behind Japanese lines in the Burma campaign. The Waco glider employed a relatively complicated tubular steel construction compared to the Horsa and had a much lower load carrying capacity.
